Light and views were main focus, particularly in the building’s central “bullpen” workspace. We implemented a light-box concept where a raised, central roof section lined with windows provides clear views of the sky, allows sunshine to pour in, and creates a larger volume to catch light. The bullpen’s walls — and those of surrounding offices — are glass, so occupants can look outside at picturesque views of forested parklands and the Chippewa River.

The kitchen is accented with higher end materials including handmade Moroccan tiles and quartz countertops that elevate the space while reducing VOC emissions. The Moroccan tile backsplash is crafted from natural glazes, pigments and clay (no surface coatings, binders or sealants), and fired in kilns made of olive pits. These selections contribute to the overall beauty of the kitchen and increase the environmental conscientiousness of the project.
